Founded in 2023 by passionate youth leaders in Tana River, Step-UP has grown from small community activities into a hub for sports and social change. We believe every person deserves a chance to thrive, and sports can build stronger, peaceful, and prosperous communities.
We use sport as a strategic tool for social transformation, inclusion, and sustainable community development.
To empower youth, women, and marginalized groups by using sport to promote peace, education, gender equality, economic empowerment, talent development, and climate-conscious action.

Step-UP CBO is a youth and women-led organization located in Hewani, Tana Delta Sub-location in Tana River County. The organization uses sports as a tool for social transformation, inclusion, and sustainable community development.
We offer several key programs , including a Community Sports Development Program , an Education and Life Skills Development Program , a Gender Equality and Health Awareness Program , a Youth and Women and Girls Leadership & Economic Empowerment Program , and a Climate Action and Environmental Stewardship Program.
We use sports to promote peace and social cohesion , advance gender equality and health awareness , support education , and foster economic empowerment. Our activities include organizing sports leagues and tournaments , and integrating awareness campaigns into our sports programs.
